Austrian-born economist, political philosopher, and psychologist Friedrich von Hayek is best remembered today for both his contributions to economic theory and his opposition to socialism. His most famous book, The Road to Serfdomwas dedicated to “socialists of all parties” and condemned socialism in all its forms. The book was panned by socialists, praised by antisocialists, generally distorted by critics and admirers alike, and became a runaway bestseller.
